Doug started racing sidecar road race in about 1962 once he had returned back from Cyprus where he served three
years with the R.A.F. Regiment. He began as a passenger but it wasn't long before he could afford to design and
build his own racing outfit. Here is a snippet of the crazy things he loved and enjoyed.

| My Dad & Keith racing at Brands holding the Number One Plate as Club Champions |

|
| Dad & Keith racing at Lydden circuit |

|
| This is the outfit Dad and I raced together. |

|
| My Sis Paula and I |

|
| Dad and I giving it large at brands! We crashed that day and I did ten backward somersaults. |
Dad was a fantastic rider, capable of beating the best in the world! However it all came down to money and the
fact that sidecar racing just isn't highly commercialised. Therefore sponership and works rides were just very few and far
between! (more to follow soon)
